PCAM Code of Practice

The PCAM Code of Practice outlines the organisation's key principles and should be followed by all members when embarking on a new project.
  1. Always charge and/or pay your writers for demos: they are usable works, not just sketches.
  2. Always pay your suppliers and pay them on time.
  3. Always exercise extreme caution when embarking on soundalikes.
  4. Always protect your copyright: it's yours, don't give it away.
  5. Always use PCAM guidelines as a starting point in negotiations.
  6. Always strive to maintain creative control over production: it's your music, your musicians.
  7. Always obtain signed PCAM Artiste Release Forms from session musicians and singers.
  8. Always use PCAM agreements for commissioned music and arrangements.
  9. Always ensure clearance of any samples used in your work.
  10. Always call the PCAM Helpline (0906 865 0908) if ever in doubt.
