Associations

AIM
AIM, the Association of Independent Music,  is a trade bode established in 1999 to provide a collective voice for the UK's music independent music inudstry. AIM represents over 800 member companies, from the largest and most respected labels in the world, to small start-ups and individual artists releasing their own music for the first time. 

APA
The Advertising Producers Association is the trade body for production companies, post and music production companies, VFX and editing companies making commercials.

APRS
The Association of Professional Recording Services. The APRS promotes the highest standards of professionalism and quality within the audio industry.

BECTU
BECTU is the independent union for those working in broadcasting, film, theatre, entertainment, leisure, interactive media and allied areas who are primarily based in the United Kingdom.

BASCA (BRITISH ACADEMY OF COMPOSERS AND SONGWRITERS)
The British Academy of Composers and Songwriters is Europe’s largest composer/songwriter organisation, representing over 3,000 UK music writers.

BRITISH ARROWS (formerly BTAA)
The British Television Advertising Awards. Includes the Weekly update of new ads.

CREATORS’ RIGHTS ALLIANCE
The Creators’ Rights Alliance brings together the major organisations representing copyright creators and content providers throughout the media -- particularly, television, radio and the press.

EQUITY
Equity is the only Trade Union to represent artists from across the entire spectrum of arts and entertainment.

IPA
The Institute of Practitioners in Advertising. The industry body for advertising agencies.

MCPS/PRS Alliance
Mechanical Copyright Protection Society and Performing Right Society Alliance. The PRS collects and distributes licence fees for the public performance and broadcast of musical works. The MCPS collects and distributes ‘mechanical’ royalties generated from the recording of music onto different formats. This income is distributed to members, writers and publishers of music

Resource for the music industry, including record companies, music biz attorneys, managers, and producer info.

MUSICIAN’s UNION
The M.U. was founded over 100 years ago in 1893, and has a proud history of service to musicians of all types.

PACT
The Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television - has established itself as the only trade association in the UK representing independent television, feature film, animation and new media production companies.
