Dear PCAM Members,

David Newton, Media Member Account Manager in the Membership and Rights section at PRS for Music, was a guest at the most recent meeting of the PCAM Committee on 7 June. The purpose was to find ways that PCAM and the PRS can work more closely together in supporting our members.

We have already planned to collaborate with PRS to present two seminars in the autumn on the basics of music administration, copyright, royalties etc to an audience of music creators and an audience of music users.

David Newton has also offered, starting in the autumn, to send relevant PRS personnel to open meetings that we will organise for PCAM members to explain different facets of the processes used by PRS to determine and allocate royalties. We will give you more information about those sessions shortly.

But David also made a unique and valuable offer. Any PCAM member who has an issue relating to their copyrights and royalties and requires assistance from PRS can contact Dave directly. He will make sure that the request is interpreted correctly by PRS and fed to the correct help-desk team. He will also monitor our requests/issues for speedy resolution.

This is great news and a huge benefit exclusively for PCAM members. Personalised service from PRS can be difficult, so to have a highly experienced person offer to help all of us is fantastic.

So starting from now, if you have any particular queries relating to your copyrights, registrations, royalties (domestic and international), claims etc, please contact David on: David.Newton@prsformusic.com, and copy PCAM Administrator Bob Fromer (bob.fromer@bsuk.com) so we can keep track of how this service goes.

Best wishes for a happy and productive summer.
