The latest Seminar organised by PCAM and the PRS, starting at 6.00 pm on Tuesday 13 November, will be an evening of expert talks and discussions on the topic of mental health in the music industry, specifically among songwriters, composers and musicians.

The Seminar will feature speakers from PCAM, the PRS Members Fund, Help Musicians UK, Mindscape, Music Minds Matter and others.

Places at the Seminar are limited and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

WHEN: Tuesday 13 November. Registration will be open from 5:45 and the event will begin at 6:00 pm.

Here is the timetable:

6:00: Introduction by Dave Newton (PRS) and Paul Reynolds (MassiveMusic and Chair of PCAM).

6:15-6:45: Creating something tangible to improve mental health (Mindscape and MassiveMusic). Launch of Mindscape App.

6:45-7:15: Finding Your Wavelength (Music Industry Therapist Collective). John Bassett will discuss his experience as a psychotherapist working with musicians, composers and music industry workers.

7:15-7:30: Break.

7:30-8:00: Music Minds Matter will present a discussion about the challenges surrounding mental health and welfare and how the MMM/PRS Members Fund can help songwriters, composers and musicians address these and find a way forward. This will include a breakdown of what the MMM/PRS Members Fund offers as well as a more general discussion featuring a researcher, an artist and representatives from HMUK, the PRS Members Fund and the music industry.

8:00-9:00: Drinks.

BIO: John Bassett is a London-based counsellor and psychotherapist, with a previous career in the music business and with media agencies. He is currently involved in a new venture called the Music Industry Therapist Collective and is also a psychotherapist affiliated with the charity Music Support. He has worked extensively providing therapy to university students and to various public sector and civil service industries.
